I believe I mentioned I was going on vacation, but I may not have gotten across the magnitude of the venture. We're in Hawaii. I had every intention of updating semi-regularly, after being assured that the hotels we were booked into had internet access. Well, they did, but it was the $5 for 15 minute in the “business center” variety and I'm too cheap to spring for that. It turned out that we needed to switch hotels for the last two nights after spending a week on the big island, and ironically the cheapest hotel of the three was the only one with an ethernet connection.
I was coming up with a long list of things to complain about, but that was just my mental illness talking, because hey, we're in Hawaii. I was going to spell it Hawai'i, but let's get real, I think we all know where I grew up, and it wasn't here.
I am somewhat tempted to buy a condo. But not to live in, are you kidding? No way, I'm thinking I could become a rental condo slum lord. With the money these places haul in I bet I could buy another one every year until one day I could just live off the income. Live of leisure, here I come.
Anyway, two weeks is honestly a bit too long of a vacation for me. I'm ready to go; I almost stopped at the United counter today after our inter-island flight to see if we could just come home today, but I was talked out of it. Oh, and I bought a new networked webcam before I left, and thought I had everything worked out for you to log in and see Buddy while we were gone, but after we left it somehow unravelled, so I guess you're out of luck. Sorry.
