too much
I've been drafting a new entry since yesterday. It was going to be a open letter to the president, suggesting he hire my good friend Punchy The Clown as the new director of FEMA. Punchy's primary qualifications being the ability to create genitalia out of balloons, which doesn't sound like much, but considering the current guy got fired from his last job at the International Arabian Horse Association, I think Punchy's got a good chance.
But the news has just been overwhelming me. And when I read today that the Army is barring the Red Cross from even entering New Orleans, I think I cracked. I just can't take any more outrage. I need to stop expecting any decency from America.
“They killed a man here last night,” Steve Banka, 28, told the Reuters news agency before he left on Sunday.“A young lady was being raped and stabbed. And the sounds of her screaming got to this man and so he ran out into the street to get help from troops, to try to flag down a passing truck of them.
“He jumped up on the truck’s windscreen and they shot him dead.”
