goals are for sissys
I've seen a few people write posts about their new year's resolutions, but I haven't seen anyone talk about last year's. Come on people, grow a pair. We know you failed, it's ok.
Last year's resolutions (yes, I wrote them down. Not that it did me much good.)
- Submit photos for 5 contests. Actual contests submitted to: 0. Although I did submit to 2 publications, so that's gotta count for something. Both rejected of course.
- Submit 300 photos to Flickr . Starting at 178. OK, this was just a freak coincidence, but the final number of photos I had on flickr at the end of the year? 478.
- Weigh self every day. I figured that giving myself a weight amount to lose was doomed to failure, and this might be easier. No, not really. I kept that up for 2 weeks.
- Cook dinner at home at least 3 times a week. Keep in mind when I wrote this I was living by myself in a downtown area in Taiwan with a lot of good food within walking distance. I think I did pretty good on this until I left in June.
- Do not drink more than 2 sodas a week. Again, this was something that was hard to do in Taiwan because we had a fridge with free sodas in the office. I can't say I ever kept this very well though, although I'm probably down to 3. Although I do drink a lot of fruit juice at home, which has just as much sugar.
- Do not eat at McD, BK more than 2/mo. See above. Not a problem now that I'm back home.
- Visit 3 Taiwan Cities besides Hsinchu and Taipei. Check.
- Finish Mandarin audio CD's by March 15. No, I didn't do that, but I did take an actual class when I got back, so that's gotta count for something.
I didn't bother making any this year, I figure I'll be too busy to worry about improving myself.
