“[W]e are leaving ourselves vulnerable to infiltration by those who want to mold the United States into the image of their religion, rather than working within the Judeo-Christian principles that have made us a beacon for freedom-loving persons around the world.”
– Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA), in an op-ed published in today’s USA Today, explaining why he believes the United States should refuse immigrants from the Middle East.
That’s great. Yeah, thanks for protecting us from SCARY religions, Virgil.
Don’t you feel 100% safe now that Saddam’s gone? I sure do.
Scott-san - January 3rd, 2007 at 10:32 amYeah, I especially feel good that they guys that hung him were chanting the name of a guy who’s been blowing up our troops. Hooray.
rob - January 4th, 2007 at 10:58 pmMy mom gave me the book, “Letter to a Christian Nation” for the new year. It’s got some flaws, but overall I agree with the sentiment, which is: Isn’t it time we just left all this religious bullshit behind and got on with making the world a better place already? LE SIGH.
