It’s good to be good at something
A few weeks ago when they hung Saddam Hussein, the big outrage was that someone had taken a cell phone video. Nevermind what the video showed, which was that the people that we chose to do the hanging were a bunch of thugs who were chanting the name of one of the militia leaders who is currently busy blowing up our guys. Saddam somehow came off looking like the only sane guy in the room.
I didn’t watch the video. But something occurred to me. It actually takes some skill to hang a man correctly. And since the execution took place at a US military facility, I’m guessing that the person making sure it worked properly was one of our guys. I wonder how they went about finding some contractor who knew how to hang a guy. I wonder which company he worked for, and how much he got paid. In any case, whoever it was must have gone home, because whoever tied the rope this time around really fucked it up: Hussein’s half-brother, other co-defendant hanged - CNN.com
Oh well. What’s one more decapitated corpse?
Yeah, I watched a History Channel presentation about the death penalty thru the ages, and the segment about hanging was pretty GD awful-sounding, like how if you don’t put the knot at the right place, it doesn’t snap the neck, it’ll just slowly strangle the person to death, and if you put it in the wrong place, it’ll decapitate the body, which freaks out the onlookers. My point being, YOU ARE WATCHING A HANGING, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY FREAK YOU OUT ABOUT THAT?? Buhh.
I don’t believe in eye-for-an-eye justice, but if that’s what the Iraqis want, then heck, that’s what they get, I guess.
I heard Dubya on the news today say he didn’t care what Congress or the American Taxpayers wanted, he was sending more troops to Iraq. Oh, so I guess he’s HEAD MOTHERFUCKER IN CHARGE OF SHIT NOW? I thought this was a democracy, but apparently he’s king shit of turd mountain.
